The rate table runs from one to seventy pounds in one-pound steps.  The increase per pound typically dropped by one penny for mid-weights and by a second cent per pound at high weights, until after 31May2015, when the increment not only rose from 48¢ to 50¢, but the discount for bigger shipments disappeared (the increment never decremented), bringing the 70 pound top shipment from $34.55 to $37.22, a 7% increase.  On 22Jan2017, Media Mail rates changes were like the changes to First Class flats and parcels: small items expensive, larger items priced more competitively.  The first  pound increased $2.61 to $2.63 and the increment increased from 48¢ to 49¢. but only up to 7 lbs, after which the old 48¢ increment remained.  .
